Chalksteam Trout Fishing

Chalkstream fishing:

Being avid chalk stream fishers ourselves we realise that every angler has his preferences. Some anglers prefer the small intimate chalk stream experience, fishing for wild brownies using 7ft-8ft rods and fishing small dry flies, whilst others prefer the excitement of fishing for larger trout on the famous beats of the Test, Itchen, Avon and Kennet.

We pride ourselves in providing exactly the right beat and river for our clients. We have many top class waters to offer, we know the beats well, have fished them all, and know each and every one will provide excellent sport. Call us in advance to discuss your exact requirements.

Season:

Trout: Mid April to mid October.
Grayling: Mid June to mid March

Rivers:

Top class beats on the Test, Itchen, Avon, Kennet, Alre, Anton, Dun, Dever, Meon and Wylye.

Guided Trout fishing:

We offer guided days for 1 to 2 rods. More rods can be accommodated with extra guides. Prices vary according to selected beats. We will discuss your requirements and quote costs.

Corporate Trout fishing days:

We specialise in providing corporate fly fishing days on premier beats for up to 10 x rods. First class catering and tackle can be supplied if required. These increasingly popular days are ideal for entertaining clients with great trout fishing, a sumptuous lunch by the riverside in glorious surroundings. Guides can be provided and beginners are welcome.

Call us to discuss your particular requirements.

Guided Grayling fishing:

Autumn and winter guided grayling fishing is available on the above rivers.

Guides:

All our guides are fully qualified instructors and have been carefully chosen for their fishing expertise and people skills. All are dedicated to providing clients with a superb fly fishing experience in a stress free and enjoyable atmosphere. Guides will collect rods from Winchester station, if required, or from their hotel, and drive directly to the river and return them in the evening.

Wild Brown Trout fishing in New Zealand:

Based on first-hand experience we are able to advise on the very best lodges, and wild brown trout fishing available on the South Island. We know the guides personally and can devise an itinerary which will deliver a ‘trip of a lifetime’ for the discerning trout fisher.

It’s often said that New Zealand fishing is ‘the university of trout fly fishing’ and how true that is! Talk to us!
